Susan Fuller

Interview

This week, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Susan Fuller of Fuller By Design, a site and blog aimed at "Bringing the creative and handmade to everyday life." Susan blogs about her creative journeys in fiber craft and in writing, sharing her challenges and insights along the way, while also touching on motherhood and family relationships. To find another artist whose work picks up the same threads as mine really gratified me.

My interview is part of her "Motherhood By Design" series, which includes weekly interviews over the course of a year with women who balance creative businesses with motherhood. I was able to talk about how motherhood has impacted my work, both compelling me to deeper inquiry and awakening my desire to teach. This is perfect timing for me as I am offering a free workshop in three Seattle locations in the next few months: Motherhood on the Page: Read and Write the Mothering Experience.

September is also an exciting month for Susan. Her book Successful Surrogacy, a guide to working with a surrogate mother, will be released on September 27th.
